TRAL at Public Lands Day - Sept 28

Post by azrich » Fri Sep 20, 2019 4:00 pm

TRAL will have a booth at the Tonto Public Lands Day event on September 28th from 8:00AM - 1:00PM at the Phon D Sutton recreation site on the Bush Highway. We'll be setting up from 7:00AM to 7:45AM.

There will be lots of other exhibitors, games, demos, etc. at the event. The flyer is attached.

If you are interested in working the booth, please post here and register on the event registration page. We aren't going to do time slots for this one since the event time is not very long.

And since it's over by 1:00, we can cook up some lunch there at the rec site and then go out to play if enough people are interested.

A closure order was put in place on the 23rd affecting the Public Lands Day site. All along the Bush Highway from Steward Mountain Dam to Granite Reef is closed due to high water release from the dam. Here is what I got from the Tonto:

I know we are all concerned about National Public Lands Day this weekend and I have attached the closure order for the Lower Salt River for reference BUT, we’re pretty sure there is a chance that this may get lifted before the event which would mean we would be in the clear to continue like normal. I am asking that we all continue to plan like this is going to happen full force and we will try to give, at the very least, a 24 hour notice if we need to scale down, postpone, or worst case scenario, cancel the event. We have teams out working on analyzing anything that may affect the event and we should know more after the expected rain event tonight. Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or change in your planning. Hang in there, we appreciate you!

The closure order is attached.

The closure issue will be lifted in the morning so we are on for the event.
