FR4 closed??

Post by jlabr2 » Wed May 29, 2019 8:20 pm

Globe Ranger is reporting that FR4 is closed near FR230. Thinking of running out there on Friday to see what is going on.

Just returned from the site out there. It appears as the mining company who owns the property, is going to do some more mining for perlite in this area. They do have FR4 blocked with boulders and dirt berms. I walked around the area. Looks to me that they did not have to close the trail, but I am sure that the mining company is concerned with liability issues with active mining going on. The Globe Ranger is currently in negotiations with them to try to find a solution. That is all I know for now.

Update on this trail issue. The mining company has reached out to say that they are currently taking samples from the area to decide whether the mineral there is worth mining. There will be a decision made in 2 to 3 months as whether further mining will be done. When this decision is made, then the mining company will figure out how to get the trail open again. So I glad to hear that this mining company is friendly to the off road community to listen and work with us on keeping this important trail open.
