Lower Sycamore Cleanup - October 20th

Post by azrich » Tue Oct 09, 2018 8:50 am

The 2nd annual Lower Sycamore Cleanup is being hosted by Natural Restorations on October 20th.

It would be great to have a strong turnout from TRAL volunteers at this event. Since the cleanup runs from 8-12, it's also a good opportunity to enjoy some wheeling playtime in the afternoon.

If enough TRAL volunteers register on our event page, TRAL will provide lunch after the event is done. We can pack up and head out into the Sycamore area to a nice lunch spot.

Register for event - http://www.tontorecreationalliance.org/events/

The event start time is 8:00AM and will stage from the bottom of the hill past the Bush Highway entrance to Sycamore.

See the Natural Restorations site for more details.

We will also be repairing a Kiosk's signs. I'm not sure of the when. We could do it during or after the cleanup.
Let me know when it will be the best time.
If you are lucky enough to go wheeling, you are lucky enough.

We had a light TRAL turnout for the cleanup but Natural Restorations could only afford one dumpster for the event and it was full by 11:30. Overall, the turnout was pretty good. Many of the participants were not OHV folks. Good to see others interested in cleaning up. There was one target shooting company there, Mr. Target was a sponsor and was giving a deal on self-healing and steel targets. Good to see at least one representative from the shooting world but too bad there were not more.

Since we had a couple of trailers, we were tasked with hunting down some appliances that had been left out in the big wash. With those and some other large junk, the trailers were overflowing.
