We're going to the Payson area to escape the heat. Not sure where we'll be inspecting, but we know where we're meeting!

As with any ADAT run, if no one is signed up 24 hours before the trip we may not go to the meeting spots, so make sure you sign up!

Meeting time and place-
9AM at the Maverik Gas Station 715 N Beeline Hwy, Payson, AZ 85541

Lunch will be provided for folks who let us know they're coming at least 24 hours before the event start time. Either register on the TRAL Event Calendar or reply to this thread. Please let us know if you plan on bringing guests. Look for the option to add a note if you register on the calendar.

Keep an eye on this thread for the latest updates.

Worked our way up to Hardscrabble Mesa. Pretty decent views on the way in.

And not bad on a couple of the routes in the area, either. :smokin:

The marker we previously installed for this route, which lead to private property, had been removed, likely by the private property owner in an attempt to deter others from coming onto his property. While I understand their side of it, it’s important to keep in mind that route markers are not just to tell people where to go, but also to help them with location finding so they aren’t wandering aimlessly.

We’ve recently acquired decals to help explain what some routes might be used for, so I decided to add them to this marker. I guess we’ll see if the private property owner is okay with this the next time we go out there.

Another route which wound up at a property line. Believe it or not, I elected not to pass through this gate. I’m not really a country music fan.

Last route for the day took us along the western edge of the Mesa, offering a striking view off to the west, a brush fire visible in the distance which I later found our was right along the 17 around Sunset Point.
