Hewitt Station data collection Oct 3rd

Post by azrich » Fri Sep 28, 2018 8:38 pm

As part of constructing the Hewitt Station OHV User Map, we are adding some points of interest. This trip is to go gather the locations and some pictures of the points.

TRAL is providing lunch for this one. Only a few of us going so far but I'll have enough for a couple more if anyone else shows up.

We'll meet at the Bashas in Gold Canyon at 8:30AM.

The weather forecast for early next week says rain so we'll monitor the conditions as we get closer.

So, the rain turned out to be real. Looking at moving this out to Wednesday or after.

Stand by, will post as soon as we get it figured out...

Most of the trails were pretty solid, but there was a little clay gumbo by the Rock Corral.

Nice cloudy and wet day that cleared enough to get the locations an photos of some points of interest for the Hewitt map like we wanted.

Most of the day had low clouds and times of heavy rain.

The washes were flowing and we got to see the leading edges of water starting to flow on some of them. There were lots of little crossings but nothing very big.

On one of our last trips I broke the venerable TRAL BBQ. it was very sad.

But its replacement packs up better and did a great job on the Sausages!!!
