TRĀL
MONTHLY MEETING
September
14, 2011
The meeting was called to order at 7:02 PM
by Rich Smith.
TRAL Updates
The pamphlet is going through final review,
and will then go to Yamaha for approval and then the Forest Service for approval. We hope to have it
out soon.
Grant – Jason, with RAC, spoke to the
National Forest Service about the grant. TRAL has to pay for items up front, and then the money spent
will be reimbursed through the grant. Sarah told Rich that TRAL could get the money as an
advance, but it’s hung up now for some reason.
Rich asked for an ATV representative that
would be interested in becoming a board member. Kevin Ghose volunteered.
The board will need to approve his selection.
Leader Training – Rich described the
changes in how we will do projects this year. Since we will be doing smaller projects in smaller
groups, we will need more people trained to lead these smaller groups. Each group that goes out
to do work on the forest will need to be trained.
Forest Service Update
There were 14,000 volunteer hours this
year, which is double last year's numbers.
26% of the Forest Service budget will be
cut next month.
Travel Management is still
proceeding. They are trying to determine what will be open and what will be closed.
It has been to the regional office, and it’s still there. It will come to the district and then
go back to the regional office before it goes out for public comment.
Fire restrictions have been lifted on the
forest. No fireworks will remain in effect.
Game & Fish would like us to work some
meet and greets in Queen Valey.
With no other business to address, the
meeting was adjourned at 8:09 PM
